About Antrix - the most FAQ

Whatever your reasons for clicking the Logo, this page answers the question most people ask at some stage - why Antrix, and what is its origin? OK, you can leave now, if you want - the return button is at the top left  or at bottom of the page!

Antrix, or the letters that comprise it, don't stand for anything, and it has nothing to do with the fact that one partner is called Anne.

Originally, when Peter started earning some money from what was originally a hobby, he had to choose a 'working name' which was Antares (those born under Scorpio may work out why). As he was also doing some face & body paint work, when this art-form was in its early days, ' Antares Art Tricks' covered that aspect. When it came to getting more serious about the business, that name was a little long so we telescoped it to Antrix which was effectively a made up name and one much less common than Antares. This was, of course, helpful when it came to the Internet.

Unfortunately it may be made-up but it's not unique - there's an American rocketry technology firm called Antrix who do wonders with satellites etc. on the Indian sub-continent - they're the .com. (Their name derives from a word meaning 'Space' - very appropriate) and there's a breed of terriers called Antrix. There are a few other Antrixs (Antrices?) around, but if it's costume hire for Kent you're after, we're the right ones.

As you might have worked out, the logo features aspects of our activities. Trouble is, we keep having to change it! It used to just have a bulky CPU on it (when we did DTP), then we had to migrate to a flat-screen, now we've got a minature version of the website homepage on the screen (although we don't change it every time we change the website!)

We hope you'll find our website different from other costume websites you might visit. For one thing, we maintain it ourselves (and yes, sometimes it shows!) but we can at least change it whenever we want and aspects of it change at least every day - it's what keeps the search-engine bots interested.
Thanks for your indulgence - perhaps you'd like to see what's on the website now!
